I was Sze and I-Vee's hair and make-up artist for the night. Thank goodness I know how to handle a brush! Miss B snuck me in to the events as her assistant. (We are talking about a good hundred bucks' worth of ticket here!) I hid myself at the music booth most of the time but I found myself handing out medals to the Latin winners at one point and put in this very uncomfortable situation of managing the music when the DJ wasn't around. Now, THAT was scary. Especially with L breathing down my neck! We were so relieved when G got back in time! The ballroom part of the event was a bit subdued before dinner was served. Since I was snuck in, I had to watch them devour their 8-course meal. The smell of food was making my stomach growl. So, I immediately left the ballroom after the Line Dance events were done with. I-Vee finished 8th while Sze managed a podium-worthy 3rd! Congrats! We planned to head out for dinner but got sounded by Miss B for potentially missing the professional latin/ballroom events. She threatened to knock our heads together if we missed it so yeah. We walked across to KFC for a take-away dinner. Sze belanja! Yay! 3 slices of Gardenia Butterscotch bread isn't enough to last us from 1pm till a good 10.30pm! The event ended sometime around 2am btw.  As we were walking around the changing rooms- I noticed this REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, perfect looking guy! I mean, perfect as in old-school perfect! You know those actors who play uncredited roles as evil Nazis in the old school 'La Vita e Bella' or 'Sound of Music' movies?! Piercing blue eyes, the sleek golden hair, strong jaw, scandinavian cheekbones and the perfect nose? Hell yeah! All you need is just one glance to register the beauty of his face. Thinking that having such beautiful exteriors would be the most perfection a human being can be gifted with- I seriously thought he was going to suck in the professional ballroom event (yeah yeah a bit unprofessional of me but such direct thoughts do pop up in my head) till Sze pointed out that they've already made it THIS far so it wasn't really possible. She was darn right. The couple were so good they set the floor ablaze. His partner's dress was so gorgeous! The design wasn't as elaborate as the rest of the ladies' but the combination of the way the black fabric moved and the gold sequins effortlessly catching the light was perfect! They were so much more synchronised than the rest and gee... who knew I'd actually enjoy such flat music? Thanks to google, I found out that Aleksandr (oh yes I knew it was spelt that way. Go me! ^^) and Irina are ranked 15th in the world. No wonder! O_O Since I was so flustered and distracted by such perfection *lesighoooihhhaihcoughs*, I asked Sze to help me snap pics of the couple. On top of that, we did some mental calculation on how to dock points off Mr. Gorgeous. Confusing 195 with 159 (or something like that) -1 Late for the prize presentation -2 Broken english -0.5 Not photogenic at all ahh what a waste -1 Taking his pants off without shame even though we were in the room +10 and in the process, exposing well-shaped but extremely fair thighs... eh -1 Relax lah I am not crazy. Like you would resist using your peripherals when the cross of Dolph Lundgren, Dirk Kuyt and Gabriel Aubrey is taking his shirt off in the vicinity! On the left is a couple representing Taiwan. Their latin dances were extremely pleasant to watch and definitely deserved first place! On the right is the power couple of ballroom Aleksandr (CLICK TO ZOOM CLICK TO ZOOM! or at least google!) and Irina.  All in all, the event was really fun and I definitely enjoyed all the dances that were performed tonight. ^^ |
